Our mission is to promote safe operation of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS or “drones”) through education and a positive atmosphere for pilots of all ages to exchange information and ideas. Our goals are to promote UAS proficiency and emphasize the benefits of these aircraft systems to society.
Organized UAS or drones have been prevalent in Chaffee County since mid-2015, beginning with the Chaffee County UAS Advisory Board (CCUASAB) and the creation and growth of Central Colorado UAS Club. The Central Colorado UAS (CCUAS) club was formed in 2017 as a 501(c)(3) entity..
The primary leadership for the Central Colorado UAS Club came from Taylor Albrecht and Dennis Heap and both individuals were members of the CCUASAB, Dennis was Chair from August 2017 to August 2018, and Taylor was Vice-Chair from August 2018 until the board was dissolved.
Current Club leadership includes: Taylor Albrecht, President Honora Roberts, Vice President Stu Langrehr, Secretary Dennis Heap, Treasurer
